Admittedly, I’ve kind of got World War II on the brain, seeing as I’ll be heading down to Omaha Beach later this week for the D-Day anniversary. That actually may have an impact on how I handle comments here for a few days, but we’ll see.
Hey, are there any Geocachers that read this comic?
-Farva

I would geocache but I would have to get a GPS FIRST.
A lot of them can be found without a gps. Mine broke a few months ago (my son left it in the rain), but I still go for the occasional search.
Yeah, I’ve actually got two that I use for geocaching. Whatcha got in mind? I’m in SoCal.
I love geocaching. I just started, but it’s amazingly fun.
Yes we Geocache and it is so much fun. If you look us up we are Totem Clan and Big Bear TC
mm colateral damage.. he needs to use LOAC on his pranks. And I am a Geocacher too. got a question ask
Yep, I’m lazy/cheap and use my iphone instead of shelling out more $$$ for a GPS.
I do geocaching also.
I used to be really big into geocaching, its a lot of fun
Both my daughter and I are avid geocachers…
I AM A SUPERCACHER!
I have found my fair share of geocaches. While I do not hunt them as often as I used to, I occasionally try to score a find. I also have a pretty neat idea for a combo-cache that I would like to hide here on Florida’s Space Coast, but I have never made the time to flesh it out and place it.
I would geocache, but have no idea where to start in Dayton.
A couple of parks within twenty minutes of Wright-Patt, have multiple geocaches each. At geocache.com you can search using Google maps. Good luck!
WTF is a geocache?
I am awaiting the day when Barbie (and Leia) get even with Coffman. IT WILL HAPPEN!
You get coordinates online (geocaching.com for example) and enter them into a GPS and you find them basically. Like a scavenger hunt. Usually have some sort of container that they have knick knacks that you trade. Great way to explore different areas you normally wouldn’t see.
OK, 32.41’44.54″N 96.53’49.79″W
Nothing of value here.
(Google Earth this)
IMHO.
Judging by the large building with an almost empty parking lot that must be AAFES.
You win the Grand Prize!!!
Ok, copied and pasted the coordinates, but for some reason, they came up in the middle of the Philippines…
I’m with Boomhauer on this one…I ended up in the Philipeans
32°41′44.54″N 96°53′49.79″W, works better
thanks
I ended up in the PI too…
I’m a GeoCacher!
How do I get my gravatar to show up it says to go to “settings” and allow gravatar but I cant find “settings”.
Yeah, I’m peggin’ on the Nerd-O-Meter scale. I started it in Bagram, actually.
At our squadron we GeoCache, Helps us with Emergency Services, and search operations. Great work though Farva. Helps some of us future air force personal get a glimps into the culture of things.
I’ve been geoccahing for about 3 years. I finally hit 1,000 yesterday.
I geocache. For the last year, cool way to find discovery new places.
I’ve only gone a few times, but it’s a lot of fun. I finally figured out how to sync my gps with the site. If you’re thinking of doing it, it’s a lot of fun and a great excuse to get outside, if you need it.
Don’t start a war if you can’t take a joke.
another geocacher here, although I haven’t done anything lately besides maintenance on the caches I’ve placed.
1234 cache finds and counting
geocaching is the sh-t.
Enjoy Omaha Beach. I had the opportunity to visit most of the D-Day beaches in ’05. I had visions of a long stretch of sand covered in hedgehogs, artillery on the hills, and sunken landing craft strewn about the tide like in Saving Private Ryan. When I got there, I saw that it was just a lot of sand and history.
My brother does geocaching, he says its fun. I’m willing to try anything at least once.
Okay… Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nuclear poops, anyone?
Actually, it’s far more politically incorrect than that…
Coming to members section one of these days one expects…
I’m a Geocacher! (oddball29) plus one of your British readers up in “Sunny” Scotland, enjoy your comic alot. (Aeronut and a former Logie)
Geocacher here. For everyone who doesn’t have a GPS, I’ve been using a 10 year old Magellan 2000 XL since before GPS was cool and I had to use some paper thing called a map. Simple to use and you could probably snag one online for about $25.
Farva, enjoy Normandy. I’m gonna piss off Mrs. SARGOD by talking about the “longest day” all week…..
Love geocaching, hiders are starting to get evil down in Springfield, MO area. if you have any questions on it looks like you can find the answer from one of your many followers.
OMG! I LOVE GEOCACHING! Been geocaching for about 7 years now and looking forward to my first out-of-the-country find when I get there in July! Oregon was definitely the most fun for hunting them so far and I even geocache on my lunchhour in Downtown Houston when the weather’s nice. We put out our first two geocaches this past winter and are prepping a night cache to put out real soon. Night caches are so awesome! I really need a castle cache find.
Ok, I got a little excited.
I… do not geocache. I know what it is, and that is the limit of my knowledge and abilities. And I’ve never quite understood how the two words “Political” and “Correct” ever got stuck together but I have a really hard time naming anything correct about politics.
I’m a cacher for the last 6 yrs now, Okinawa, MS and now in OK. Love it, fun for the whole family, and the best way to get to know a new area.
Love Geocaching. It’s always a good time.
Our family really enjoys geocaching, great way to get outside and explore, especially a new location or while driving cross country.
Beware of muggles!
The wife and I started geocaching this spring and we love it!
