In a few hours, I’ll be on the road to France, destination Utah Beach. It’s one of the entries on my list of places to go before I leave this assignment, and I’m really excited about the job I get to do there. More on that later. I’m not sure how much internet access I’ll have (or even if I’ll bother trying) so comments, subscription questions and the like will have to wait until Sunday evening. Thanks for understanding! (I have, however, already loaded tomorrow’s comic and Friday’s Box D Blues into the queue.)
I want to put out a quick “thank you” to Elizabeth at the RAF Mildenhall BX, who made sure I got a copy of Red Dead Redemption as soon as they were on shelves here. Now that’s customer service! Thanks Elizabeth!
-Farva

the RDR must be a legal copy, since you got it at the BX!
But,,, they sell “legal items” that will flunk your piss test. Go figure.
IMHO
Farva, have you re-drawn or modified how u draw Leia recently? Something looks different but I can’t quite put a finger on it.
STS.
Take a lookie here and compare them:

I like the new ones better. Just sayin’.
I agree. Leia looks more refined, and closer to 20-something than 15. And, erm, more ‘developed.’
looks like she “gained” 7lbs in another areola….I mean area!
See, I knew I was on to something. Still wanna hear it from the man himself though. I know alot gets copy pasta’d but how often do character models get updated?
I’ll confirm it. The first strip where I used the new drawing was when Dhart came over for dinner.
When you take the first link and open it in a new tab and then adjust the windows a bit and click back and forth you see the change. Do it fast enough and she looks like she’s doing jumping jacks.
I’m glad comedy works from waist up. I’m only in trouble if I see a woman with awesome legs.
Of course she looks different…she lost 7 lbs!
That could do it, in part.
My nephew has been playing RDR and loves it. I suppose I will look into getting a copy in maybe a year, when the price goes down. Unless I happen to visit the States and find a used copy at GameStop.
Hey if you want someone to play some multiplayer with, my gamertag is Dog Patch Zero6
So I was just noticing the CoinForce ad again…I think somethings wrong. The material appears to be very stretched. I’m pretty sure any zipper wouldnt hold under that much tension. I even went as far as to test it on my flightsuit and I’m right. So for those of you who are cheering for it to unzip…you shouldn’t have to wait much longer.
if the zipper fails, young man, your eyes may pop out, never to be seen again!
and I am curious as to the forensic tests you used on your green bag to test the GEE loading on the zipper…?
I think he’s got ya Maj.
Dude, I know some female LTs whos, shall we say, assets are pretty damn close and believe me, it holds. Sorry to burst your bubble. Not that I’m not rooting for it to happen, mind you!
Dang…
Forensic tests? Held my flight suit up and tugged the top apart, LOL. It was pretty easy entry, STS.
Lovin’ the chest enhancement!
Coffman’s legal purchase at the BX obviously enhanced Leia’s rack and midriff. I am currently searching aafes UPC/SKU to find the same product.
IMHO
hmmm… seven pounds is 63 pounds at nine G’s.
LOL that is a very iffy subject around McGuire. I can’t lay out too many specifics… you know the whole privacy act stuff but I can say alot of DRUG related problems have happened, and from what I hear its not just exclusive to McGuire.
Poor Coffman, LOL, I hope he is not doing somthing “illegal”. Scratch that I would love to see a court marshall in AFBlues I bet Farva would make it insanely funny. Plus I’m sure the OSI guys would love to see some of their work in comic form.
And Caveman its DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) if I’m thinking what you typed is wrong. And yes you lose weight like no other playing that game. My wife plays it with ankle weights on and loses even more weight. Plus its fun, aside from you looking like a moronic geek to all of your “cool” friends.
RDR refers to the game Farva mentioned in his comment at the top of the page: Red Dead Redemption.
Confirm that, its a sweet game apparently.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, that’s for sure.
I am only curious at this point to find out who feels like a moronic geek. I would say it pays to know what people are talking about – IMHO.
Farva, I think you’ll have the opportunity to pay a visit to the Colleville cemetery, you’ll really feel something (esp. on the D-Day Anniversary). It is located on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach.
Nearly 10,000 boys are buried there. We’ll always remember their sacrifice.
For the 8 years I was stationed in Germany my Aunt (Great Aunt) would have me go to Normandy on the D-day anniversary and place flowers at her husbands grave and the “Others”.
The background story: The seventh year I put in for leave to attend the service my Supervisor denied saying I was being selfish, others may want that time off. I brought it up to the attention of the 1st shirt, then the Squadron commander, eventually it went to the Wing commander (I raised a HUGE stink about it). When they finally asked where I was going (they never thought to before now) I said I was going to see family and place flowers on a grave. It sobered them a bit and they asked who’s grave. I responded with “My Great Uncle…. and 17 of my cousins, they died so you could have this damn D-day anniversary.”
They stood there speechless, the Wing Commander signed my orders shook my hand and said “Say Thank you for me.”
My Aunt sent him a Christmas card from Scotland… and some cookies.
Visiting the Normandy beaches was on bucket list when I was stationed in Germany.
Unfortunately my oldest got sick and was medi-vacked to Walter Reed at the exact same time we were planning to take the trip to the coast.
Give them a salute and a thanks for me.
Talking about multiplayer games, does anybody here play Modern Warfare 2 on XBOX? My gamertag is pcity_sergeant if anyone wants to look me up.
Lucky you getting a chance to go to the D-Day beaches. It’s something I have always wanted to do. When I was stationed in Okinawa, I was lucky enough to get the chance to go to Iwo Jima, and it was amazing.
I guess I know what she’s going to do before she takes her PT Test!
drink Coffmans coffee?
Wellll, she better be sure she hydrates herself well in the process… the options for spiking a coffee pot do take a bit more out of you… so to speak
BWAHAHA! Customer Service!? Are we talking about the same Elizabeth here?
Much love to my big sis from her bratty baby brother!
Love you Lizzy!
