I remember – very vividly – my trip to Las Vegas when I was a very young (19 yrs old) Airman. In fact, the only reason I can remember it is probably because I was underage. That said, I did tag along with the rest of the people on my crew, and almost every night we were dragging in a few short hours before we were due at work. Not drunk or even buzzed – that would have been unforgivably irresponsible on that particular trip – but insufficiently rested to say the least.
But, like Leia said, it happens.

My “time before the second” trip to Vegas was a few years ago for a conference. The night before we left our whole “crew” was treated to a good time by a friend of mine who worked at the Stratosphere. Drinks up top, a show, drinks @ the show, rides back at the top, etc. 1/2 the group went back to their rooms at midnight, the other 1/2 of us got the party _started_.
We dragged in about 5:45, slept for an hour, went to 2-3 seminars in the morning, then it was time to leave. Plenty of time to sleep while you’re winging your way over “flyover country” with someone else at the controls.
Vega$ is 24/7 and NEVER sleeps!
They better go to Blueberry Hill for breakfast…
Fun place to visit, but three years living there wasn’t quite as fun. Gets to be a drag.
Know the feeling…working on year 4…maybe I’ll volunteer for the NCORP…even if all I can do is go and become a heavy crew chief.
sadly, they dont look a bit tired?maybe still running on some energy drinks?
Buff — They’ve probably passed the “tired” stage, hit the second wind that you get right around Hour No. 24 but haven’t hit the OMG DEAD stage that gets you around Hour No. 30.
Yup, that’ll happen. I can think of a few times I’ve experienced it there. In Reno too! Sure did make for some draggin’ ass flying that next day, but was still worth it,
Hah, I ended up doing that a couple of times in Monterey. Not nearly the same kinda party town as Vegas, but “it happens”
Never fun when that happens, oh well.
Can’t wait to see what pooch he’ll screw next. . . .
STS….
My only experience with Vegas is 2 hours in a smaller “run of the mill” casino for breakfast or dinner on the way to/from the NTC at Ft. Irwin, CA.
So where did they end up going?
Well, if they were like my bunch the last time we were there, they made it to New York, New York and never left… (I kept trying to show them the rest of the strip and all that….)
Sounds like they need to make a much needed trip to Starbucks for something with a lot of caffeine!
Well at least the BX has a starbucks in it.
I’m really surprised nothing else “happened”. Maybe the second night out……………
TDY to Creech…. oh yeah, good thing RPA’s pretty much fly themselves…
Morning everybody, long time reader, first time poster…
not to nitpick but…
“I”ll see IN you in 20 minutes”? Typo or innuendo? *arched eyebrow*
I don’t really consider that nitpicking, since you were pointing out a legit spelling error. Nitpicking, to me, is when someone tries to show off their knowledge by pointing out some ridiculously mundane detail only they would know about and then condescendingly inquire as to why it wasn’t featured in a fictional comics strip.
I do prefer to be emailed about that kind of thing rather than have it pointed out to everyone, though, but it’s been fixed, so thanks!
