how has his naiveity (sp?) lasted this long? BMT knocks most out, and tech school should finish the rest.
Props to the guys who stood by the static display for 2 hrs and saluted every time a jet went over, or the guy who convinced a whole dorm that it was marttress exchange day…
BMT and Tech definitely doesn’t knock out any naivety. I love sending airmen out for a few yards of flightline, or up to Trans for some pneumatic fluid.
We had a guy in CTK, fill a JOAP bottle with oil, and slapped a barcode on it, BBBSK9P
And sent in this airman to get it….
After he’d successfully accomplished that, we sent him to get one of those mythical fallopian tubes… He got bounced from CTK to the neighboring sqn shop chief, to the flight chiefs, who sent him to the pro super, who sent him to the chief…
The chief explained, in no uncertain terms what he thought about this poor little A1C asking him for it… (aaaaaawwwwww) – the chief then yelled for the shift super of our shop, tore him a new one, adn then finished with “Just kidding!”
Oh, have you ever sent someone to NDI to get their steel-toes checked for cracks? Can’t use them on the flightline otherwise; QA’ll getcha
How can I not blame you?!?!?! YOU PROVIDED THE LINK!!!!
But seriously, thank you for sharing it. I’m still emotional from hearing that song. You can never be reminded too often about our brothers and sisters that didn’t make it home. Remember their families and honor their sacrifice.
Sam showed me the video several months ago–(TXANG-his guys) but I had no idea Darius sang on it, too. What an beautiful name for such an important mission.
What a great song. I have never heard it before. There are a couple of us C-130 engineers here with “sinus problems” today because we have done this missionin Iraq. Thank you farva for sharing.
I just spent the last few minutes catching up on the comics for the past month and finished it off with the video…I had to shut it off halfway through due to the aforementioned “sinus problems.” I love/hate those kinds of videos…
Hahaha… okay, I’m here, I finally registered (wtf? really? yeah, when the site first opened, reg was broken, so I didn’t bother to keep trying ). Because AHHH!! I can’t believe I finally get to see my part in here.
Okay, according to the story, he’s not actually based on me, he’s based on another guy, but I can’t believe that for a second.
It’d sure be interesting to see the guy start rambling about F-16s as well… then I’ll know for sure!
now that is funny

I think my favorite was sending a new airman to LRS to get a roll of fallopian tube.

Oh man, that video and hormones do NOT mix!
I’ll be downloading that song from either iTunes or Amazon when I get home. Thanx for the heads up.
excellent link, Farva! At first, Angel Flight, I thought it was going to be about us GA pilots who fly patients around.
but, proud to share my callsign for 10+ years of “Angel Flight 34J” with “Angel Flight Bravo Zero Two”

Radney Foster – Angel Flight
Could be worse, that kid might have a thing for women officers.
Monster crush on Leia? This could get interesting…
I’d much prefer Dhart.
