Thanks to everyone who stopped in for my reenlistment!
Well, there ain’t much that can be said that ain’t already been said by a thousand other people.
Certain people, in my opinion, need to not take as much credit as they are, though.
Go Navy! (Mark this date, because you may never hear me say that again. Or read it.)
-Farva

Here here!
Got to give the Squids props for this one
Yep OBL got his 72 Virginians! What’s that? hahaha he thought it was Virgins? ooops…
no one said it was female virgins
The Navy is the only real branch….
0/10
LOL! Live in the moment I guess…
Gotta say Farva, while i agree and echo your sentiment… That’s gotta be the darkest strip (is that an STS?) Ive seen you post yet..
shouldn’t a-hole be all caps, bold, underlined, italics, and much larger font?
Touche good sir
Bravo Zulu to Seal Team 6. Gotta give props to the President. He was watching live and gave the kill order. No way could we let him be captured.
My thoughts exactly sir.
absolutely spot on Farva. Well done.
btw, Where’s my avatar?
spot on farva
Yeah, I gotta say, why the hell is Obama taking all the credit? Even if I did like him, he didn’t pull the trigger, nor do any of the legwork to find the bastard. He just happened to be the figurehead when it happened.
“Yeah, I gotta say, why the hell is Obama taking all the credit? ”
So I gotta ask, where is he taking all the credit? All I saw in that first speech seemed pretty spot on. He DID make finding him a priority, he did work closely with the right people when they got the leads and he did act on the chance to get him (unlike previous presidents who had him in their sights at various times). He also credited the intelligence folks who found him and the seals who did the job.
You have to at least give him the credit for not bungling this golden opportunity.
Unless there’s something I haven’t seen, I don’t get where all this talk about Obama taking all the credit is coming from.
Ok so he got one thing right? Still not enough reason for me to vote for him. Unfortunately people are basising their vote off of this one thing that he had a very small roll in.
He isn’t personally taking credit but he’s being credited as if he did pull the trigger
For the same reason Osama gets credit for 9/11 when he wasn’t the one flying the planes..
Its the privilege of leadership. I don’t agree with him, didn’t and and won’t vote for him, but as the designated Guy in Charge he gets to take credit when good things happen, and he gets to take the blame when bad things happen. It happens at every level of leadership.
Oh heck no! Apparently you missed your leadership lessons.
When good things happen you give your people credit, when bad things happen YOU take credit.
THAT’S a good leader.
But indeed, he’s the leader of the Armed Forces, so he shares in the glory and shame of our victories and defeats.
He did give his people credit. The only thing I’ve seen that would make it appear otherwise is Rush Limbaugh.
If Bush were still president, people would be having this same conversation…
Sorry, that was not based on anything I heard him say personally. I have not heard what he has to say about this, and really don’t want to. I have an irrational aversion listening to him speak; the sound of his voice literally makes me angry. I admit this might be a bit irrational but my research into where this country is heading economically has me seriously concerned.
My comment was based off the media, who immediately started throwing out headlines like “Does this pretty much guarantee his re-election?”, which made me sick to my stomach just thinking about the possibility.
Boom! HEADSHOT!
^^ Epic
To people bashing the President, he isn’t doing anything ANY other president would. In his role of commander in chief, he gives the go for this kind of mission. He made this announcement. Read/watch what he actually said in his speech. Obama has not politicized this – others have.
That’s what I’ve been saying. He’s a president, people will love him, others will hate him. And the ones that hate him will say whatever they can to discredit him, and it happened to Bush too. It’s just dejavu all over again…
It was the culmination of 10 years of intel ops, and a multitude of treasure & effort spent, but the pressident was the one who gave the order, and he is the CINC. Ultimately if the op had gone bad, he would have had hell to pay, so he is ultimately responsible for the victory as well. On his speech he deservedly gave credit to the years of intelligence gathering, and the brave SEALS who risked life and limb to bring the monster to justice. Even if you don’t agree with some of the POTUS policies, (I sure as hell don’t) you gotta agree he scored a resounding home run on this one. Pressident Obama scored some serious cool points. Credit where credit is due. He well earned this “feather in his cap” and I applaud him for it.
I agree with Glenn Beck though, we should have wrapped him in bacon instead of a white shroud. Hope the fishes nibble at his bunghole for the rest of eternity.
I agree with this, my take on it was that he was saying “the buck stops here”
Yeah, I don’t like 0, but he did make this call. Credit where due.
I have my opinions on Obama’s speech, but this isn’t really a political site so I’ll keep them to myself. It doesn’t matter what I think, and I never said up top that’s what I was talking about. I’m just saying a lot of credit for this is being thrown around and eagerly snatched up, and some of the people accepting the kudos probably don’t deserve them as much as others do.
Yes, failure may be an orphan, but success has many parents. I’m sure a lot of people are going to try to adorn their perf reps with this one. but in any case, just knowing the bastard is dead makes me feel good. We did what needed to be done, and did it in style.
(I may have to print a full poster sized version of this one for our Ops room though. WELL done Farva!)
If I was the president, God forbid, (and not facing re-election) I would spend my valuable words in the hours after the news broke praising the one(s) who pulled the trigger(s) as the bullets undoubtedly whizzed past their heads, and save the “I approved this” and “I ordered that” for the campaign commercials.
Obama undeniably deserves some credit, just like my supervisor deserves some if I do something good. But if I’m being handed an award or medal, my boss wouldn’t be at the podium telling the audience how much he had a hand in my success.
Oh, and thanks! Perhaps I’ll make the high-res available soon.
Of course, your boss doesn’t rely upon public opinion to secure his continued employment either, so there’s that.
You’ll notice I threw in the “and not facing re-election” bit, which was to address that very situation.
President is a job I wouldn’t want! LOL!
You do realize that success of our Spec Ops is mainly do to it being behind the scenes? Not to mention POTUS already has Secret Service to protect him, while the SEAL that pulled the trigger, or any of the other team members do not. Revealing any of the Navy SEALs team names that were involved in this mission would not only make it impossible for them to continue as members of that team, but would also put their entire families in jeopardy.
Nice one Farva!
Congrats and thanks from France
to Farva for the cartoon
to the Seals for the catch
to the United States for being the United States (ie, not perfect but damn good!)
Same from me !
As a French AF Officer, I feel happy today to be able to say : “Well done USA !”
That difficult job was done with panache…
Errrm, for us not familiar with US time zones… how many UTCs are 0830 CSTs, please?
Ummm… It’ll be 2:30 p.m. London time. Does that help?
Yep, very well, thank you. Setting my clock for 1330UTC/1530LOC
damn i missed it
Me too…wasn’t quick enough. Any way to get whatever it was in the member’s section?
It was an American flag, which was brought up on the computer monitor in my office while I reenlisted. I just wanted to incorporate my comic, as well as invite all the fans, to participate in that milestone of my Air Force career.
It was said last night and I would like to repeat it here:
“It serves my heart good to know that the last face bin Laden saw on this earth was that of an American Navy SEAL.”
But, after saying that I’d also like to add that behind SEAL Team 6 there was 10 years of work by hundreds of thousands of folks both in and out of uniform. Through all that work, WE GOT HIS ASS!!!!!!. May he rest with the fishes and I hope they don’t get sick feasting on his corpse!!!!!
America F*%k ya
Wrong place to be posting this a$$wipe.
I think he meant it as “America F*%k Yeah” Like in the Team America World Police song.
How is the mustache contest coming? j/w
I’m about to leave on a TDY where I’ll get some serious time to finalize that. I want to thank everyone for being so patient on this.
Outstanding Navy let him rot at the bottom of the sea and i hope he dosent poison the ocean floor with his decoposing corpse. Farva excellent panel and to everyone who had a hand in tracking him down the first rounds on me. NYC is my home and everytime I see the Manhatten’s skyline I miss thoose beautiful towers that stood so tall. Thank you every last intel, Seal, Crew Chief and the countless others who helpped justice be served. God may be the only one who can judge us but at least we made this meeting occur.
lol I saw a post yesterday…somewhere…where a person said
“They dumped his body in the sea? Man, it has been a really bad year for the ocean hasn’t it?”
Hah, wow, didn’t expect that from you Farva. Still, great comic.
Well you remember their rescue of Captain Phillips right? US Navy SEALs. Not only will they shoot you dead from the fantail of a destroyer while you’re in a life raft in choppy seas…..but they will do it at night…..on Easter Sunday.
Speaking of THOSE guys… when they stopped back through Djibouti after that incident, not one member of that Team paid for a single beer. Nor did any officer say a word about the 3-beer limit.
Of course, the Team didn’t ‘say’ who they were, but it was rather obvious to the rest of us who frequented the bar. ‘Tower of Power’ on uniforms of new guys on camp equals a Team of badass Navy guys.
After this? I’m buying the first round for any SEAL or retired SEAL I come across in a bar, just to be sure that I may eventually get to thank a member of the Team that took down Osama.
Bravo Zulu, my friend….Bravo Zulu
“Give my regards to King Tut…”
Excellent movie reference!
It’s currently 0928 CST and I don’t see anything. Did I miss it?
Uh, DC? It just now hit 0830 CST… not that it matters cause I still don’t see it haha.
You’re right. I’m in EDT, screws everything up…
he did say around.. lets just keep hitting refresh every few minutes
Congrats, Farva. Thanks for doing (and CONTINUING to do) what you do.

Congrats and thanks for your continuing service to this great nation
Congrats!
Congrats Farva! Awesome idea- it almost beats the reenlistement completed in the ‘deid’s pool for creativity.
Congrats on the re-enlistment! And Thanks to Katie for supporting you! The military spouse is an important part of the mission, whether they know it or not.
I second those statements.
Congrats Farva! Thanks for your service to this fine nation!
Hear Hear!

Thank You for for your re-enlistment! I appreciate your willingness to put yourself in harms way to protect us. My dad was in the army for 20 years while I was growing up. It was the best of times, It was the worst of times, but it was always worth it. Oh and thanks for the awesome comics. There GERRRRATE!
Congrats Farva.
Congrats, guess we missed it…
Stargate reference intended for E KIA.
Any chance we could get a artist’s rendering of the corpse in the member’s section?
All I can think of is the Family Guy episode where Stewie kicks Osama’s ass during the intro. =)
That was awesome!
Congrats on the re-up!
I was there when you took the oath for the very first time and I am so happy to have been able to be there again for your over-the-hump swearing in. Damn cool idea and thanks for inviting all of us!
Without taking a thing from everybody who has worked, bled and died on and since 9/11, those who have supported those people at home, and those that continue to do so, the planning and execution of this mission from the SeALs, CIA, and supporting elements was fantastic.
I would never celebrate the loss of any life, but I celebrate the lives that are now saved and that justice has been done, in regard to this man. I would caution, however, to not get too comfortable. The fight is still on. This is a major victory, militarily and perhaps psychologically for this (primarily) and other countries, but the war is far from over. I would suggest we stay vigilant.
Farva, I agree that SOME people should stop taking credit that isn’t due them. Although, I am rather irritated at the “victory lap” POTUS is taking at ground zero today.
Congrats on the re-up !
Farva, well done. Next time you go to the club, order a bin Laden – two shots and a splash.
My new favorite drink : The Osama= 2 shots & a splash of water…. OHHH!!!!
HAHA…LIKE!
Dang you Mr. P, you beat me to the punch! LOL
I was surprised that it hadn’t been posted here yet!
Oh come on Charlie Sheen was a great squid… oh wait these The Real Navy Seals.
/salute
My co-worker said it best…the 72 virgins are a bunch of fat dudes that play WoW! LOL!!!!!!
Love the mouse-over!
Waaaaaaaait. The hot elf chick in WoW is a dude! Well that certainly gives new meaning to camel toe.
pwnd
Nice work on the re-up!
Fish-heads for the Win!
Next time, OBL will buy the damned cookies from the Girl Scouts. The little bitches will snitch on you in a heart beat.
“Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances.”
Farva re-upped for the SOLE reason that he enjoys his eXchange benefits!!!
I rarely use my abilities to delete or edit comments, but this one is tempting.
FARVA for President!
Oops…he can’t run for another 5 years now.
Congrats on the re-enlistment.
Agree with you wholeheartedly
I hope he is loving his 72 virginians. I here Thomas Jefferson, Sam Houston, Patrick Henry, Jeb Stuart, James Monroe, and James Madison have been fighting for 2nd place in the line. George Washington has 1st.
Love the mouse over comment!
