“Someone” may have posted this one on the snack fund fridge in my building as well Ironically the snack fund got restocked within 24 hours of it’s appearance…
*ahem* the mouseover says “Xchange” and I have been informed that the “eXchange” lawyers are going to get grumpy over that. As far as the strips content, that is uncontestable!
My snacko experience was that I just took it over after I came back from my last tour in Iraq just because I was sick of hearing people bitch about it. I kept that thing WELL stocked. I separated a few months later, and when i came back a few weeks after that as a civilian, the snack bar was empty, and it even came up in the CC staff meeting “when is Chris going start stocking the snack bar again?”. I wouldn’t have minded, but my section chief quashed it since it was her opinion that it was a military duty and as a civilian I cannot use government time for it.
I never had to deal with snacko duties, but while in Kunsan I was the hooch daddy and it seemed that they always ensured I had pleanty of time off on Fridays to ensure the hooch was fully stocked for the weekend Used to piss off the snacko cuz he had to find his “own time” to restock
I still call it the BX too…kinda hard to change when that’s what you knew it as for almost 10 years! Also, my squadron’s snack bar always got their stuff from Sam’s Club….
I still call it the BX (used to call it the PX no thanks to my Dad when he was in the Army Reserves). **chuckle**
When I was stationed at home we always picked up our stuff at Costco. And when I was in charge of the snack bar I made sure it was well stocked, even asked for suggestions on healthy items if we could acquire them. Learned my lesson one time though. Never go down a hill with a fully loaded car (cases of water and soda). Got pulled over for speeding in my new car, but the cop let me off with a warning when he saw my load. **lol**
I thought it was funny how they changed the name right after the “mall” (otherwise known as the KMCC) opened at Ramstein. They just barely had the sign up, and had to change it out. So walking out of the store one day, my daughter said, “Daddy, look! The B fell down!” A few weeks later, we were driving past, and she said, “That’s the X! The B fell down, now it’s just the X.” Now that’s what she calls it–the X. How funny is that? I’ve got my 3 year old making fun of AAFES!
This comic, just got posted on our snack fund fridge

IMHO!!!
I am currently on 28 days of leave, and god only knows what happened to our squadron snack bar after I left…..
When I was active duty, snack bar supplies were generally acquired from DECA, not AAFES. Was that abnormal for most squadrons?
Bought from DECA and inspired by AAFES. =)
I see LtCol Rowland got an updated look…

Badger Ops lives!
My unit in Panama was so small we rotated the snack duty through every department.
Special position? Bottom bitch?
No rat’s ass given here either. It’ll always be the P.X. to me.

Dont think most of us old farts give a rats ass either. Will always be PX/BX to me.
Barbie’s got a point.

OHMI OHMI OHMI!
You looking in a mirror?
Been the BX for me for 40+ years and despite being a minion of the eXchange, I will ALWAYS call it the BX.
