I did this in Djibouti for a friend, and finally got around to posting it.

The problem is, if you’re sent from AOR to Germany for treatment, AOR regs still apply–no drinking. As long as the Army has CENTCOM control, that’s how it will be. @#$ers.

Can we see something about not everyone fitting in their ABUs/flightsuits as well as our wonderful cast of characters? I have seen more unflattering in my career than flattering…

I served 10 years in the Army, seven of them in Germany. Never saw a single Octoberfest due to deployments or field exercises of one type or another. I swear some general officer somewhere is laughing his behind off over this fact. I even had a battalion commander one time tell the battalion after a deployment we weren’t going to be in the field for Octoberfest that year only to have USAREUR decide we were the perfect unit to send back to Bosnia and deploy us there in late August. It was a conspiracy I swear.
Well, the beers at the Oktoberfest cost an arm and a leg, so he’d only be halfway there!
He wouldn’t get there in time for much. Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in September, and ends Oct 3rd this year

I knew (some in the biblical sense) more than a few cute female airmen and sergeants…. Heck, I even “knew” a few cute army and marine privates who liked the chance to date an NCO without having to worry about those silly fraternization regulations
