I, on the other hand, as the NCOIC of Social Media for RAF Mildenhall, must buy into social media on an hourly basis to make sure people aren’t posting advertisements for their freaking babysitting services on RAF Mildenhall’s official Facebook page. Sometimes I have to laugh at the people who complain nonstop about the noise from the F-15s flying over their neighborhood, right before I point out to them that we don’t fly f-15s and send them in the direction of RAF Lakenheath’s public affairs department. I get a little kick out of doing that sometimes.
(I kid, I kid – one team one fight. Though that is what I do.)

First?
Hi J!!
Since when do officers do manual labor? Don’t they have airmen?
Actually, in the Ops side of a Fighter Squadron, about the only airmen there are in Life Support and so don’t get detailed out too much cuz they have to be there to help prep the pilots for flight. As such the junior officers do end up having to do details around the fighter squadron building.
Dang, and here I thought Coffman had something to do with it…

You’re welcome
Officers?!? Cleaning detail?!?
“Luke… I sense a disturbance in the Force…”
Dammit! I knew it was either her or Coffman but I thought it was Coffman.
Yeah, no complaints about those noisy little fighter planes, but those darned tankers are always dumping fuel on approach right into my backyard…
you could build a collection pool and resell it ? with Fuel prices at a all time high cash in
excellent idea!
And now I have Diamonds are Forever stuck in my head too… thanks for that…
That’s at least two of us now (even though I’m sure many many more will…)
Ron White said it best
“Diamonds…that’ll shut her up”
over here at RAAF Base Amberley, “the RAAF base was built miles away from any town”/ Now people have built housing estates at near the base and complain about the noise, complains last year where F-111 are too noisy, now this year they’re complaining about the F-18′s and C-17′s, I told them, you haven’t heard nothing yet, wait until we get the F-35 then you can complain. but all and all I miss the F-111, dump and burning over complaining local houses at 0000hrs on a Saturday was a highlight of my Monday mornings.
Now let me see, Diamonds are Forever is the second or third Bond theme sung by Shirley Bassey, the first being Goldfinger?
Who know, Farva, with all the restructuring and base realignments/consolidations going on you may become RAF Mildenheath, or maybe RAF Lakenhall
