Hey folks, I’m here. For the last two weeks and change I’ve been in Texas more or less taking care of my dad who just had a heart attack. In my family, things like deer leases and football come before superfluous expenses like internet, so please forgive my absence. Also, to a degree, I just didn’t feel like telling everyone here what was going on until I knew everything would be OK, which it is. That really let this Thanksgiving take on a new meaning. Dad’s fine, and I’m now back in the UK and the comic will continue on Monday.
As for Box D Blues, which I’ve just seen a few of you mention, its disappearance was only loosely connected to my trip home, and it should continue next week as well. I can’t get into why it had to take a pause, but I can assure you it was not a Crew Dogs-style issue, though certain levels of leadership have been more involved than I’d like. When it returns, the only change you’ll notice is the name, and if you could see me as I type this, my eyes are rolling.
Thanks to all of you for your concern, and even more than that, your patience.
-Farva
Glad to hear all is good with your father Farva.
Was concerned when you went off the radar. Will be sending good words up to the big guy for you and yours.
Glad to hear everything is better for you and your loved ones. I think we all have been there when leadership decides to meddle in our pet project. I hope the time away from writing and drawing has reenergized you. AFBlues forever!
Glad everything is okay Farva.
Family First.
Glad to see that he he doing better!
Glad everything is ok, glad you are back. You are helping me along my deployemnt believe it or not..
Glad to hear things turned out for the better with the family. As for leadership having too many fingers in your project, can you say you’re suprised? im sure things will pass over. Hope you can still have fun with it, becasue that is the reason you started it right?
Glad you were able to take care of family…that always comes first and it ‘s good to hear that you did. Hope everything works out for you and yours, and you’ll be in a lot of prayers, I’m sure!
Farva, Glad to hear everything is going well with regards to your father. I’m guessing there’s a new sheriff in town and he/she doesn’t like the title of your strip. I remember when you first showed up in the UK and how excited she, the wing queen, was to have you doing a strip about the UK. Funny how times have changed.
I’m also glad your father is doing well. Welcome back!
Glad everything is OK with your dad. I lost my dad to a heart attack in 04…just make sure he listens to what the doctors tell him, and enjoy your time.
RL and Family always comes first. Glad to hear he’s doing ok. Welcome Back
Things are stable and on the mend on the home front and tha’s what counts. Glad you’re back and that Houston has picked up a win or two in your down time couldn’t hurt
Glad to hear he’s ok, Farva. My dad didn’t get a second chance or even a warning. In fact, he walked out of his physical and got in his truck at the hospital and fell dead over his steering wheel in the parking place.
And Yes, deer leases are more important than internet!!
Best wishes to you and your dad!!!
Glad to hear your Dad is a fighter; sounds like the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Like others have mentioned here, I lost my Dad back in ’99 and would give anything for one more day with him to fish, chase trains or just sit on the porch and shoot the breeze, so you make sure you take every opportunity you can to be with him, don’t worry, we’ll be here when you get back. And as a fellow Texan I agree that deer leases and football take precedence over the internet, you forgot though the other basics of life brisket & beer. Please give our best to your Dad and…Go Texans!
Just glad to hear things are well. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers my friend…take care of what you need to, and don’t let us interrupt that!
/salute
Glad all is well on the home front. Never ever think you have to explain anything God, Family and everything else.
Take care and have a Merry Christmas!
Farva, Glad to see you back and that your Dad is Ok. Just don’t forget your Dad now has a cheering section and prayer team for his rapid recovery here. Looking forward to new strips both here and what used to be Box D.
Farva, It is alway great to hear when a family member is doing better. Remeber we are all your Wingman and we will all be there if you need anything.
Sometimes you just need to drop everything and head home. Just glad things turned out OK.
The wife and I are both relieved to hear that everything is ok! No biggie about the absence. You had some far more important things on your plate. We were all just worried is all.
I’m anxious to see how the new *ahem* Square D comic turns out. I’ve been reading the comic since Col Murray got you to start it and have loved every one! Even sent links out to friends at other bases to help give it more exposure. heh Keep writin’ em and I’ll keep readin’ em.
Oh, with your permission I’d like to take a picture of your poster at the Post Office and post it in the forums for everyone else to enjoy. Would that be alright?
Glad to hear your father is fine!
as for Box D, well it’s called “PC”…
Welcome back, Farva! And don’t worry about our patience; your family’s more important, and RSS will always let us know when you’ve returned.
Glad to hear that your Dad’s doing better, too.
Glad everything’s OK.
Glad to hear your dad’s ok, Farva. Gotta agree…family is a hell of a lot more important than anything else.
Glad everything has worked out!
When it is all said and done, Family and close friends are really the greatest worth. Glad your Dad is getting better!
I figured you had a reason, and now, I am glad all is well….looking forward to more cool strips, but keep family first!
Everything was said, I can just be part of everyone relief.
I hope everything’s back to very normal for your father.
Thank you to keep in touch with us.
We all like you, and waiting for your return is the simplest but most important gift we have.
See you on Monday for the continuing adventures !
Rémy from France.
Farva, glad your pop’s on the mend. I lost my grandfather back in September, 3 days before I went home on leave from Asscrackistan…so I know that sinking feeling when something goes wrong with your family and you’re several thousand miles away. I think everyone was less concerned with the comic and more worried about you with the lack of posts…family first
I agree with you! I think most of us were concerned about you not neccesarily the comic.
Comics can wait for family, Farva. Glad to hear all is well with your dad now!
Glad everything is good with the family… glad to have you back!
