Ok folks, as the above image states, there’s a new Member’s Section strip up today, finally.

That said, I have a question for you. One of the things I’m working on during this hiatus (because believe me – AFBlues doesn’t stop) is the next book, which should be released early this year.

But I need your help. Yes, yours.

One of the biggest sections of this book, other than the 50+ never before seen strips and glimpses at my various other comic projects (Mike & Josh and The Adventures of Sam Cash), is a section about the main characters of AFBlues. Kind of a bio thing, if you will. But I want to know what YOU want to know. So post here what questions you’d like answered about each character. Stuff like “Who inspired them,” “Who would play them in a movie if I got to choose,” “Why do they look this way…” You get the idea. The most frequently asked questions, as well as the ones I find most interesting, will make it into print. Others just may be answered here.

Also, if there’s anything you want to see in the book, throw it out here.

Hey folks! Hope everyone’s holidays went great.

Above are the winning entries in the “Safety Never Takes a Holiday” cartoon caption contest held by the Air Force Safety Office. It was a lot of fun supporting this and it’s something I hope to get to do again in the future.

There were more than 700 submissions from nearly every branch of service.

For a quick update on the hiatus, I’m nearly back up from technical difficulties and should begin populating the Member’s Section on a regular schedule very soon. I’ve been approached with the idea of guest strips, and I’m all for it. Give me a little time to figure out how it’s going to work and I’ll announce it here with a new strip, which will pop up every once in a while. ‘Til then, thank you again for your continued patience and support!

Heeeeeeeey there, folks. That was my nervous hey, because I have some bad news. Bad for some, I guess.

Starting today, Air Force Blues is on hiatus. It has to happen, and although I’ve known this for a while now, it’s coming earlier than I originally intended, so to speak.  This is kind of why we didn’t have a Christmas fundraiser this year, which I really regret.

I’m not going to explain right now why this is happening, but I can assure you no one is behind this but me. I’m not in trouble or anything, and it’s not deployment related.

The Member’s Section will be the only thing to update for a while – I can’t say how long. Originally it was going to be six months, but because I have to start this early I can’t say for sure how long it will be. I will, however, announce the exact date I’ll be back several months before it actually happens.

I can tell you that the Member’s Section will update on a regular schedule during the hiatus, and the updates will not be canonical, so this isn’t a ploy to get more folks to join – it’s to not slight those who have paid for membership.

I understand this may upset some people, including me, but it has to be done. I really appreciate your understanding and support. I also cannot stress enough that this is temporary. AFBlues will be back, and when it returns it will be better than ever.

For those of you who have written to me to tell me about how this comic has helped you through your deployments and such, I want you to know it kills me to have to do this, but it’s crucial to the continued existence of this comic.

I will explain more in the near future. Keep checking back here for more info.

Interesting night last night in the NFL… If the Texans had to lose, I’m sure glad Indy finally won.  Actually, I’m just happy about who they beat.

Got back from Lajes just in time to see that incredible Houston win that, combined with Tennessee’s loss, got my team to the Playoffs for the first time ever. So a big congrats to the Texans!
